George W. Clark, Owner

George has been a resident of Grand Rapids for over 20 years, but has lived in West Michigan his whole life, with his wife Cathy and three sons.

He attended Central Michigan University, majoring in Business Administration. George has spent over 30 years as an Executive with companies like Best Buy, Office Max, MC Sporting Goods and Galyans Sporting Goods. He has opened and been responsible for the construction in over 500 retail stores, which gave him a great deal of experience with the construction process. George has also worked as a consultant to the Retail Industry for a couple of large national consulting firms. George is the owner of Handyman Matters, which does remodelling, additions and repair work for all of the West Michigan area. And now the proud owner of Smart Roofing Systems as well.

Rick Paine, Owner

Rick was born and raised in England, moved to Michigan 7 years ago after meeting his wife, Brandi, who lived in Grand Rapids. He now has four children (two girls and two boys) and has been a resident of Rockford for the last 7 years.

He finished his schooling at age 16 and went on to college, where he earned his degree as a vehicle mechanic. He worked at a large vehicle repair shop for 7 years before moving to West Michigan. Shortly after moving here, he found a new excitement working in construction. He worked for a local construction company and mastered various skills along the way, focusing on exterior remodeling. His learning ability quickly moved him up the ladder to the Project Manager position. After mastering his position as Project Manager, he had the opportunity to partner in a new company with George Clark, which is now operating today as Smart Roofing Systems.
